ACSA Mentor of the Year

CONGRATULATIONS to Jasmine for winning the ACSA Mentor of the Year! It was difficult process chosing the winner due to the high caliber and number of nominations. In the end, with great difficulty, we chose Jasmine as the Mentor of the Year and she will receive a gift certificate from Things By Ling (http://www.thingsbyling.com) and a Mentor of the Year certificate. Both of Jasmine’s mentees submitted exceptional nominations, here are some excerpts:

Aaron: “Jasmine often initiated email conversations, referring me to different resources, events or people and asks me useful questions as to what I needed guidance on.”

Judy: “She sends us documents that she thinks are useful to us and makes sure to follow-up.”  When Judy was discouraged by the lack of response from employers, “Jasmine gave me tips on how to be creative with my applications and to really express my skills.  Her advice gave me the encouragement to not only keep applying for co-op jobs but also gave me the hope that I would be able to compete with others for my dream job.”

Thank you mentees and mentors for taking part in this year’s Mentorship Program; your participation has made this year’s program a phenomenal success!  We would like to remind you that Mentor Participation letters and Mentee Certificates are available for pick-up from the Arts Co-op office.
